Indeed there is still a 2.6.22.9 in the update directory. I'll check tomorrow
if this one can be responsible for the problems you stumbled across. This one
wasn't installed at any time during my tests.
It's strange that you got vesa instead of nv driver by default. What's the
output of "hwinfo --gfxcard"?
