Suspend to disk worked perfectly on my Dell Inspiron 9400 with openSUSE 10.2 for x86_64. After upgrade to openSUSE 10.3 for x86_64, when I select "Suspend to disk" from the kpowersave applet, the KDE screensaver starts and the screen is locked with the username/password prompt.
What happens afterwards?
s2ram works without any options when started as root. s2ram -n says that the machine is recognized by s2ram. I've looked at various howtos on the openSUSE wiki, and managed to get the system to suspend to disk by setting SUSPEND2RAM_FORCE="yes" in /etc/powersave/sleep and by creating a new file, /etc/pm/config.d/config containing HIBERNATE_METHOD="kernel".
I'm a little bit confused. HIBERNATE_METHOD is only for suspend to disk. So is suspend to RAM working or not. Anyway, can we please handle only the suspend to disk issue here? Please create another bugreport for suspend to RAM.
