Happened to me too, just now, while doing a regular update
with yast-update, to get kernel 2.6.22.12-0.1.
Really annoying! Luckily I found this bug report.
Please add this to the "most annoying bugs in 10.3" !
I did not create this symlink myself, I think it is a leftover from
opensuse 10.2, as I did an upgrade and not a fresh installation.
I guess there will be more people tripping over this, and the
error message gives really almost no hint what is happening.
I can confirm that removing the symlink makes it working again.
I will clear the NEEDINFO, as comment #2 fully answered the question.
