I'm a bit confused to see two capplets doing similar things. On my opensuse
10.3 I see 'sound preferences' (gnome-sound-properties) that allows me to set
default audio devices and another tab for events and the system beep. This
applet has a tango styled icon called the same as the binary and installs it
correctly to hicolor.
gstreamer-properties applet seems to duplicate the functionality for the audio
card settings, but adds video sink settings.
Either it would make sense to have a video settings capplet, which would
feature a webcam/camcorder icon. Or combine the video/audio settings into a
multimedia settings which would probably best have a note and a film strip as
an icon.
I'd hide the current incarnation of the gstreamer capplet from control center
though (rather than tangoifying the gstreamer logo (+monitor)). Ekiga or some
video conferencing tool can always reference the tool from its configuration...
