[Bug 326252] After update from 10.1, I have duplicated applets

I have this duplicated here. It appears that the list of applets immediately
after the upgrade is correct and they are started and added to the panel but
the existing ones are still temporarily left there also. After a restart of
gnome-panel there are no duplicates (and applets that were removed like the
screen resolution applet are gone). Still looking into this...
