[Bug 333988] kde login manager --> users cannot choose custom account icon (32bit dvd)

it turns out to be a permission problem.
if access to user's home directory is set to 755 (744 not enough) it works,
that is the user-selected icon is displayed in the login list.
as kdm and X run as root, directory permissions should not matter at all. also
I think that having to set one's home-dir to 755 to allow a "system service"
access to an icon is not logical.
--> there must be some code in kdm to honour the permission bits. otherwise it
would just work as it runs as root.
