Disabling arts completely for the user in question makes audio partly work.
aplay and amarok work now, but other applications like kaffeine or
frozen-bubble still freeze when trying to play any sound.
I really wonder why sound works flawlessly for the user created during the
initial installation. What's the difference between a user created by yast in a
running system to the user created by yast during installation? As I mentioned
before, they both belong to the same groups.
Another thing I tried is deleting the whole home dir of the newly created user
just to check if there is a problem with /etc/skel, but to no avail.
