You have bundled several problems in this bug :) could you please open ati
driver and sax bug separately?

Follow these steps to get everything working properly again:

open terminal
su -
rpm -e x11-video-fglrxG01 ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default
zypper sd "ATI Repository"

Click on this http://opensuse-community.org/ati-legacy.ymp and once
installation is complete, make sure you have this:

rpm -qa | grep fglrx
x11-video-fglrxG01-8.40.4-1
ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default-8.40.4_2.6.22.9_0.4-1

Do not run sax2, instead run:

aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf --force
gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl

Install this one click:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.3/compiz-manager.ymp

and reboot.
