While adding a list of packages with zypper via the command

zypper install package1 package2 package3 ...

we lost a lot of packages and patterns if the package 'ftp' is listed in
the above command, i.e. zypper is going to delete packages and packages
by patterns in a random way. You may try simly

zypper install ftp
