--- Comment #2 from Ian Marlier 2007-11-03 12:20:18 MST ---
There is a confirmed workaround for this issue.
By changing the clocksource of Dom0 from "xen" to "jiffies", the issue appears
to be eliminated. After doing so, I was able to run burnin testing in dom0 and
three domU's for 72 hours without any errors.
This change is made by doing
echo "jiffies" >
/sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource
Note that although the error messages appeared from all of the clocksources on
the machine (clocksource/0, clocksource/1, etc), changing only the
current_clocksource for clocksource0 was enough to fix this. The others were
unaltered.
I have not found a good "approved" way of persisting this setting across
reboots of the host machine. For the moment, I've added the echo command above
into my boot.local script, which serves the purpose, but is less than ideal in
my opinion.
