ok, so it does _not_ work with "-f" only :-)
Could you try the options shown on http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram, please?
I'd suggest "s2ram -f -p -m" or "s2ram -f -a3" will probably work with your
machine.

It works with "-f", no other options needed.
# cat /etc/pm/config.d/defaults
S2RAM_OPTS="-f"
It works from the text console too, but after resume the LCD remains blank
until I switch to X (Ctrl+Alt+F7).
