Short Summary:
I got RealPlayerGold working through nspluginwrapper.
Details:
I first downloaded the two RPMs to my local drive and installed them using "rpm
-ivh *.rpm". I immediately tested it on the Website and it worked. Then I
shutdown the computer and rebooted, and tested again and it did not work. I
tried going through YAsT2 with the "Manage" option and that did not do
anything. Then I tried YAsT2 "Update" and that took a long time, and after it
was done, I tested the Website again and it worked, both under "root" and on a
lower level user account. So it all seems to be working now.
It might have worked out better if I had installed it originally with YAsT2
instead of "rpm". In any case it is working now. I will try uninstalling
"gnash" and will see if "flashplayer" is working later. I do not consider that
one important since "gnash" covers enough Flash capabilities for my current
needs.
Since this report was specifically about "realplayer" though, I think it can be
closed. Many thanks!
