That's for the OpenSUSE, right, but look deeper into the kernel sources: 10.2 -
2.6.18, 10.3 - 2.6.22.
In 2.6.18 there was different drivers for S3Trio and Virge - S3triofb.c and
virgefb.c
In 2.6.22 all s3 drivers merged into one file s3fb.c

PS. What does this numbers mean? 0.5.0/0.4.1 ? X.org drivers? I'm talking about
framebuffer kernel driver. SaX uses framebuffer by default! And that's why you
can't start X server!

I've attached some logs, don't have 10.2 right now so i'll post 10.2 logs
later.
So i'll try today to downgrade kernel on 10.3 to 2.18 and see if it helps.
