- Make sure you do not have ivman installed

It is not installed.

- Log out from Desktop
- Switch to console with CTRL+ALT+F1
- Log in as root
- Insert CD

Done.

- Check if it does get mounted automatically: it shouldn't

It was automounted (automount kicks in randomly)

- mount the CD manually

N/A.

- Check what happens if you press eject: nothing should happen

cd /media/dvd
[press eject in the drive]
disc was ejected

I did another test. Boot computer in runlevel 3.

- Log in as root
- Insert CD

Done.

- Check if it does get mounted automatically: it shouldn't
