well, if it does not happen without "debug=yes" and it does happen
with "debug=yes", then we can be sure the cause is definitely
/usr/lib/rpm/find-debuginfo.sh
simply because that is the only difference between those two runs.
If you want to prevent that script from stripping a certain binary,
you could take the x-bits (executable file permissions) from the
file in the %install section and set them back correctly via %attr
in the filelist.
