Right, there is no auto-probing for legacy ports like parallel or serial ports,
and will probably never be.

You could install a device node in /lib/udev/devices/ with the driver .rpm, and
auto-loading at first access will still work. Udev will copy all content from
there to /dev on bootup. Udev itself installs a bunch of nodes with its .rpm
there.

Or add the module name to: MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT= in /etc/sysconfig/kernel and
it will always get loaded.
