I'm looking to file the fbcon bug upstream. Since you're able to reproduce this
panic pretty easily, would you mind testing the kernel RPM from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_Factory/i586/kernel-vanilla-2.6.23.1-121.1.i586.rpm

Also, I'm going to change the summary of this bug to reflect the aic7xxx
problem.
