Edgar, thank you for your bugreport.
Which package were you exactly installing (there is no such package
xorg-devel)? Was it xorg-x11-devel?
On my opensuse 10.3 box, /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 is a symlink to libXft.so.2.1.2
and this symlink is in the xorg-x11-libs package.
