I just used the Docs to connect a remote machine to my ups to be shutdown when
power goes off (until I can get a cable for its UPS). Instructions were good
but missed 2 points that should be added for remote configuration, for the
locally connected machine. One is ensure tcp port 3493 is open on the
appropriate firewall interface/zone. Second is to provide an ADDITIONAL ACL
and ACCEPT line for the remotely connected nut client to upsd.conf, i.e. I
added
ACL homelinux 192.168.1.0/24
ACCEPT homelinux
in addition to the localhost entries. Otherwise, great job on the note. My
ups is now connected and configured and running better than ever. Thanks.
