This issue is really strange. I've seen this only once when I switched from
X.Org 6.9 to 7.x for openSUSE 10.2 and XKEYSYMDB was set to the wrong file
location. Therefore I asked for this information.
I have no idea what's the reason for this issue on your computer. If it is an
option for you I would ask you to reinstall the system and make sure that no
package installation error or other suspicious error occur.
