I have spent days trying different combinations on kernel boot options. It
still remains the only one that seems to work is acpi=off. I am running 10.2 on
the system now also so that I have a working system. I have tried changing bios
settings which has no effect it seems either. I don't know what else to try at
this point. I have installed all the latest updates to the system.
