Can you provide dmidecode output and describe (maybe with help from ibm/lenovo
website) how to match these BIOSes (in a bit generic way, e.g. also previous
BIOS versions), pls.
This would be an easy and safe workaround:
Match those BIOSes in thermal.c and lower the passive trip point to 80 C or 85
C statically.
I doubt they already implemented BIOS trip point overrides after trip point
initialization.
