Summary: Screen resizes when a key is pressed
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: x86
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Blocker
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Usability
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: vetruvet@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: Customer
When I boot into openSUSE 10.3, any keypress not on the numpad (including
combinations) resizes the screen. The mouse isn't affected, and the viewing
area scrolls when the mouse gets to the edge. The screen has 3 sizes, so when I
press a key, it gets bigger, bigger, and then goes back to normal. I know it's
not the keyboard's fault, because the same effect occurs when I use the virtual
keyboard utility.
Also, when I boot into XP Home Edition, everything works fine, so I suspect
that it's a problem with openSUSE or something installed.
As a result of this bug, I can't type anything non-numerical.
Perhaps this is caused by some software issue. However, I have installed only 2
or 3 pieces of software. I don't think they're causing the problem. In any
case, I would like to know what it is and how to fix that.
If hardware specs help:
Toshiba laptop, 704MB RAM, 3.46GHz Pentium 4 w/HT
Numpad turned on by using Fn+F11/F10.
