Summary: 10.2 -> 10.3 upgrade makes suspend to RAM non-functional
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: i586
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: bluedzins@xxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
OS 10.2 -- out of the box S2R didn't work (on resume screen was not restored)
so I have to add some extra flags. Since then -- worked like a charm.
OS 10.3 (__UPGRADED__), in theory it should work exactly like in 10.2. But:
a) instead of suspend screen is only blanked out
b) instead of resume nothing happens
I managed to switch to console and back to KDE and I get the screen. Few
seconds later:
c) the video memory was corrupted (only random, multicolor mess on the screen)
Shutdown, ~15 minutes later, power on again:
d) screen is dead
I shutted down it again, rebooted and luckily nothing is physically damaged.
