https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334687 Summary: Suspend to RAM at very low level do not work (echo mem > /sys/power/state) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: zarko.pintar@inet.hr QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=179103) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=179103) lists of kernel config, lsmod, dmesg, versions of 10.2 & 10.3 opensuse Problem with putting machine into suspend to RAM state (S3) on very low level (with command echo mem > /sys/power/state, or with cat 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep. with openSuse 10.3 Any of this both option can not put my machine into real S3 state. Very interesting thing is that this commands work well into Open Sue 10.2, but not in Open Suse 10.3 with the same hardware. What happened? With openSuse 10.2 when I call echo mem > /sys/power/state the system goes to Sleep (S3) state. All components stopped (Fans, Hard disks, monitor, etc. The LED is blinking!. Shortly, the normal Suspend to RAM state. I tried this on init 1 runlevel because init=/bin/bash do not work on live DVD With opensuse 10.3 with the same command I can not put the PC into Sleep state. Only hard disks turned off, monitor and fans still working and machine is stuck! (I need reset to start PC again). I tried this with init=/bin/bash on boot options I think that this problem is not of pm-utils, but kernel, DSDT table or modules perhaps. I attached list files of lsmod, dpmsg, kernel conf files and version nunbers of both systems for easiest debugging. Please, find why my OS do not initiate S3 state. kind regards, zarko pintar -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
