https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334624 Summary: Q965 with dual-DVI ADD2 card - sax2 doesn't configure it correctly Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: erikj@sgi.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner I have a Dell Optiplex 745 with the following on-board graphics chip: 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82Q963/Q965 Memory Controller Hub (rev 02) In my PCI Express slt, I have a dual-DVI ADD2 card. Each DVI port has a Dell 2007FP attached at 1600x1200. The on-mainboard VGA port is unused. To get extended desktop to work, I had to hand-craft an xorg.conf file. sax2 was successful for single-screen, non-extended desktop configuration. When I tried to use it to configure extended desktop, it produced an xorg.conf file that attempted to use the VGA port for the 2nd monitor instead of the 2nd DVI. Here is what xrandr reports. As you can see, nothing attached to VGA: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3200 x 1200, maximum 3200 x 1200 VGA disconnected (normal left inverted right) TMDS-1 connected 1600x1200+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 367mm x 275mm 1600x1200 60.0*+ 59.9 1280x1024 75.0 59.9 1152x864 74.8 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x600 75.0 60.3 640x480 75.0 60.0 720x400 70.1 TMDS-2 connected 1600x1200+1600+0 (normal left inverted right) 367mm x 275mm 1600x1200 60.0*+ 59.9 1280x1024 75.0 59.9 1152x864 74.8 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x600 75.0 60.3 640x480 75.0 60.0 720x400 70.1 In addition, I wasn't able to simply change the VGA references to TMDS-2. I think that's because this setup doesn't truly use Xinerama. I'll make some attachments here that might be helpful. PS: I wish I could have tried this prior to release but I didn't have my new desktop then :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
