Just running the 'Desktop effects' capplet gives me an error message:

    "An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for
     gnome-xgl-settings. Some of your configuration settings may not work 
     properly.

     Type mismatch: Expected `int' got `string' for key 
     /apps/compiz/plugins/wobbly/screen0/options/map_effect"


Tried setting that key to the default (from gconf-editor), and it was set back
to 'Shiver', which is a string.
