alsa 1.0.14 , audigy 2 platinum 

amixwe now gives 2 values "Amic" which has a playback volume only and "Mic"
which has a capture volume only

capture fails both in sound recorder / input level / and skype 
playback volume adjusts correctly

pewvious version (for me SuSE 10.1) functioned fine amixer produced a control
"Mic" which had both a recording and capture value
