Danny, thank you for your help. But it seems I was wrong -- turning off the
screen is not related to KPS, but, it sounds crazy, to connecting to the net.

I found it out today, when I was off-line for a longer than usual time and
everything was ok, so I thought that defaults values for KPS helped. But no, as
soon as I was on-line the screen went off.

Could you give me a hint a say what could be wrong here?
