Hmm, sorry for the false assumption. I checked it four times and it looks likes
this:
1) when KPS is in autostart (link, from the old times) screen is turned off
when KDE is finished with starting
2) when KPS is not in autostart, but the option is turned on, to start with KDE
screen goes off also but after a while (I can move mouse, and then the screen
goes off)
3) when KPS does not start with KDE see (2)

So maybe it is a coincidence but it seems like KPS triggers something. Could
that be powersave daemon?
