Requested logs for mouse wheel problem

Your magic fingers did it. Apparantly something in the original update caused
the Logitech drivers to be corrupted in some way while the gaming driver was
being added. The magic incantations you provided apparantly reset everything
and even reselected the correct mouse driver for me (I rechecked manually).
The wheel continues to function. I did have one scare: The sound quit::::
It took a logoff and relogin after reiniting the sound hardware in Yast. None
of the apps that depended on sound would work, ie, they froze, Mail, audacious,
mailchecker, vlc, etc. All had to be killed in order to logout. Once I
reinited sound and relogged in, all is well again...and the mouse still works.
I don't know what originally went wrong but you found a fix. Hopefully the
original logs compared with these current ones provide a clue as to what may
have gotten changed when the original update was installed. It also should
probably give you a way to help the others that have also exhibited this
symptom.
