Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation

Using various nForce chipsets causes the system to freeze when attempting to
detect ISDN adapters after package install and reboot.

- Occurs in text and graphical mode
- BIOS update did not solve the issue
- Disabling onboard NIC did not solve the issue
- Disabling onboard sound did not solve the issue
- Is not related to memory timings, size or latency

Confirmed chipsets with this problem:

- Nforce 520
- Nforce 560
- Nforce 630A

Additionally, a forum topic has been created here:

Suggested workaround:

Specify "hwprobe=-isa" in the installer boot options.
