Tejun, that's interesting:

After the successfully load of pata_it821x from kotd I switched back to the
2.6.22.5-31-default (x86_64) from the opensuse-10.3 GM dvd. And with the same
module list (that means: disabling it821x and using pata_it821x) it works, too!

So what's up with the boot process of the 10.3 installation? Is this a result
of a acip-i386-chipset-bios-whatever-problem?

The way to my installation now seems to be this one:

At the first time booting && installing from DVD: brokenmodules=pata_it821x.
After that, reorganize s/it821x/pata_it821x/ and prepare bootloader && fstab.
Strange, isn't it? (:

Sorry for the long dialog and testing just to figure this out...
