https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=332834 Summary: Adding custom ppd file in YaST Printer dialogue fails Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: linuxdreas@launchnet.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: Other I cannot add my custom ppd file for the Lexmark E322 printer. The same ppd file can be added to the list of printers in openSUSE 10.2. On both systems I get a window with "warning messages" about some keywords in the ppd file. In openSUSE 10.2 the file gets added anyway (and printing works with that file), in openSUSE 10.3 I get this: "0 files passed". When I run cupstestppd with that file, I get the same warning messages and cupstestppd exits with error code 4. According to the manpage, this means "The PPD file does not conform to the Adobe PPD specification.", which seems to be true for a *lot* of manufacturer's ppd files. Maybe the test should only fail when cupstestppd returns error code 3 ("The PPD file contains format errors that cannot be skipped."). The workaround to get the printer installed: I used the cups webinterface at http://localhost:631 to add my custom ppd file without any problems.
