When you try to log-in via gdm, by default the mouse is in the center of the
screen. For me this is right over the text entry field.

The mouse sitting there causes (irrespective of typing) an unhelpful help tip
to pop-up saying something about the entry (I forget what) of the form "why not
type something here".

Unfortunately, as it pops up, it stops you being able to type ;-) [ which is in
itself a bug ].

This makes login -really- irritating ;-) you have to know to move the mouse
away - but of course, every time you re-login you have to do that.

In other news Federico's nice background de-tiling thing works really nicely,
so you have to be grateful for some things ;-)

The net effect though is of extreme clunkiness ;-) Why is my computer not
responding when I type ?
