https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=328887 Summary: Virtualbox 1.5 - need to ' modprobe vboxdrv' with every new boot Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: regnovell@diwi.nl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Why do I need to ' modprobe vboxdrv' with every new boot of my system. The install instructions don't mention any extra action to install the driver as server (or i am missing something). After getting the error I was expecting the vboxdrv to be listed as runlevel service. But there is no entry for it. Is this broken in the installation via YAST (installed on a fresh install OpenSUSE 10.3 RC1 choosing Virtualbox 1.5.0 and Virtualbox-kmp-default 1.5.0_2.6.22.5-29) or is there a command to create a runlevel entry? ' modprobe vboxdrv ' gets the driver and Virtualbox running, and tried ' /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup ', but this returns the error ' /etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory ' Not sure if this is a bug in the install script or some step I've missed, but more people seem to report this. thinking in the lines of a symbolic link that needs to be created? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
