It was annoying me since some Post-Beta2 Update. Every time I rebooted, KDM crashed when I tried to login. So I logged in via the console and called 'startx' to run KDE. Or, if I did 'init 3' and 'init 5' after KDM crashed the first time and tried again, then it worked, but strangely X/KDE always ran on console 8 instead of console 7. I thought this bug is so obvious and I'm certainly not the only one affected, so it will be fixed soon. Now after updating to Post-RC1 it was still there I came across this note: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_enable_the_fingerprint_reader_with_Thin... that pam_thinkfinger crashes KDM. I disabled pam_thinkfinger in /etc/pam.d/common-auth, rebooted and now KDM crashes no longer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
