I think the new left/right click solution is intuitive. It's the same way
KPowersave, Kopete, KWallet and others are working. Left click opens some
dialog and right click opens the context menu.
The only solution I can imagine is as Timo says: make it configurable.
But thats nothing for 10.3 anymore -> moving to 11.0
