to reproduce:
1-after GUI portion of YaST installation begins, Alt-F[1-6]
2-Alt-F7

actual behavior:
1-screen is blank

expected behavior:
1-functional YaST installer ready to accept input

This is on i845G started from factory (rc2) http mirror whether using
vga=normal or acceleratedx=1.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=174489 is from same system on
subsequent (failed) installation attempt where switch to tty[1-6] and return
was successful due to substituting a TNT2 for the 845G video.

Mandriva Cooker is also exhibiting Intel video trouble on this system:
