- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx

Summary: Desktop Edge Effects Stop Working After A While
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: RC 1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Xgl
AssignedTo: dreveman@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: crispin@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: bperry@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Development
Xgl supports some cool effects that happen when you mouse to one or another
edge of the screen, such as flipping the cube when you mouse to the left or
right edge, or shrinking all your windows so you can find what you are looking
for when you mouse to the upper right corner.
In both openSUSE 10.2 and continuing in 10.3RC1, these effects mysteriously
stop working after a while. There is no noticable visual effect when it stops
working, I have found no activity that particularly causes this to happen. It
just stops working.
The minimize-in-the-corner effect just stops working at all.
The edge flipping of the cube actually still works, but only if there is no
window touching the edge. So there's a crappy work-around of nudging all your
windows a few pixels away from the left & right edges.
The normal lifestpan of my desktop until this happens is 3 or 4 days, but
sometimes it happens in a few hours.
