- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2007 13:53:42 -0600 (MDT)
- Message-id: <bug-327936-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327936
Summary: Disk formatting can't be aborted
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: RC 1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: arahne@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer
Now that EXT3 is the default FS, if during formatting you notice, that you
forgot to change the FS to a better filesystem, you can not abort the slow EXT3
formatting. There is a button to abort, but it does not work.
Only after the packages are beginning to be installed, you can abort the
installation. But aborting the installation makes you lose all the software
choices, as it switches to text based installation, with a wrong message:
"an error occured during installation", when in fact the installation was
aborted, which is not an error, but a valid choice.
It would be much better, if the installation program would allow you to go back
to change your partitioning or package choice, instead of forcing you to do
the whole installation from the beginning.
