Summary: openSUSE Updater details button cancels update and
displays useless information instead
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: RC 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME
AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: sreeves@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
New install of RC1 from LiveCD. On subsequent login I got a popup window
titled "openSUSE Updater" with the window contents of "1 mandatory updates are
about to be installed". Clicking on the details button I expect at a minimum
to be told what the mandatory update is - ie package name or something. It
would be nice to also see information about what installed/available versions
are, what the update contains/fixes, ...
What I got instead was the generic package selector screen with nothing
preselected. Zero information about the proposed update so unfortunately in
this case useless information. Then clicking "Accept" on this screen just
closes the dialog and does nothing. But the original updater popup is also now
gone.
Rating this as critical as I think most people are going to want to know what
the mandatory update is but clicking the details button actually in effect
cancels the update and does not give any useful information.
