- Message-id: <bug-327499-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327499
Summary: Graphics Autodetection Fails
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: RC 1
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: malv_star@xxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---
I am not sure if this problem is exclusive to Geforce 8xxx series cards or
perhaps my monitor, but the "Hardware Configuration" step of the installer did
not detect my Samsung LCD (a 940B) despite it being in the list of monitors.
It instead chose a default 1280x1024@60Hz VESA monitor. In addition, despite
correctly naming my graphics card as an Nvidia 8800GTS, the colour depth was
set to only 16 bits. Does this have anything to do with lack of support for
8xxx series cards in the nv driver?
I need someone to confirm as I am merely speculating as to the cause at this
point.
Filed as a bug, but needs more info.
