[Bug 326869] Installation kernel freezes on MSI K9A Platinum motherboard

The description of the board can be found at the MSI site:

The board is said to contain an AMD CrossFire 580X and SB600 chipset.
The BIOS version is 1.5 (MSI provides v.1.6 but so far I have failed to flash
it).
