Summary: sax2 and X not starting after update from beta3 to RC3 -
ATI FireGL Mobility
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: RC 1
Platform: i586
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: X.Org
AssignedTo: sndirsch@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: cgardner@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Found By: ---
X was working fine while running 10.3 Beta3. But I updated to RC1 and now I
can't start X or sax2.
It seems to fail trying to load the ATI driver.
(II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0
(II) ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Version Identifier:8.41.7
(II) ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Release Identifier: UNSUPPORTED-8.413.1
(II) ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Build Date: Sep 7 2007 22:35:20
(EE) No devices detected.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
When I first updated from Beta3, I noticed that I didn't have ati-fglrxG01-kmp
installed. I was also missing x11-video-fglrxG01.rpm. So installed them, but
it didn't seem to help. I get the same errors.
Attaching the logs....
