You are right, this was caused by the PCMCIA-IDE card I tried today the first
time (I am told that support for that one is broken for a longer time).
However, the problem with the usb mass storage camera does still exists, but it
is an IO error. The same camera works on other systems (we check it by doing a
complete dd of the device on a 10.2 system), but stopped working on 10.3
USB Mass Storage support registered.
