ok, I analyzed the problem. It's a CD only one and only if the CD kernel is
different than the one in the FTP repository. This won't be the case for the
final 10.3, this is a Factory vs. RC1 issue.
There is a requirement for _any_ tpctl-kmp module from the tpctl utility
installed on thinkpads. As the default one does not work (locked by Tim), the
next best one is installed - which drags in kernel and kmp from FTP, which are
in sync -> not booting kernel.
This problem should be fixed in general or at least Yast needs to create a
warning when two kernels are selected
