Sure, but pdb says you're the maintainer of gs, and this doesn't look like
kghostview problem - gs simply doesn't handle the option gracefully and fails
with X errors. Moreover your description of MaxBitmap disagrees with the one at
http://web.mit.edu/ghostscript/www/Use.htm . Also, even if this is a kghostview
problem for some unknown reason, just reassigning back doesn't tell us anything
about what to do with it.
