Booted from GNOME RC1 CD 
Accepted all installation default settings, except changed the partitioning
scheme.
After initial boot I got

PANIC: CPU too old for this kernel

# rpm -qa|grep kernel
kernel-bigsmp-2.6.22.5-21
kernel-default-2.6.22.5-23
