Document the test of the patch

I hope this helps.   I am more than willing to try to apply patches in the
future but there must be a better way than cut and paste to get the patch from
there to here, but I couldn't figure out how to download the patch file other
than to display it and cut/paste it into vi and save it.   That may have
induced the error that shows up in the documentation of the patch I am
inclosing.   Anyway, I really appreciate the effort you are expending.   I
believe this affects not only MD raid, but anyone with IDE and SATA systems
which means a lot of people upgrading systems that want to keep their old IDE
drives intact and install / upgrade to the newer SATA devices.  If you solve
this, you probably will solve a lot of headaches.
